John Bonner has owned and operated a professional photography services business since the late 1980s.
He began his career as a freelance photojournalist in 1987, after having run a portrait photography studio in Toronto prior to that. During his time as a freelancer he covered events and breaking news for both the Toronto Sun and several other community newspapers. In 1987 John won an award for "Photo of the Year", for a photo published in the Toronto Sun. He also managed professional photo labs during this period.
After moving to Banff, Alberta to manage a 1 hour film lab, John eventually joined forces with an established wedding and portrait studio, which he subsequently purchased and consolidated into Bonner Photography.
Going back to 1987, when John photographed his first wedding, he has since been trusted by his clients to document many hundreds of nuptials, family portraits and community & corporate events. Since 1999 John and his staff have been pioneers and leaders in digital photography and videography.
While still keeping a presence in Alberta, where we shoot for new and old clients alike, we have shifted the base of our operations to the beautiful Comox Valley on eastern Vancouver Island, where we now offer photo & video services to companies, couples, families and community not-for-profits.
